Responsibilities

As an Engineer 2, Data (Senior Data Engineer) you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in Data Management area of focus and represent Data Engineering department on complex assignments. Design, build, test and maintain enablers of business processes, including technology and process solutions with a focus on medium to high complexity, multiple large application business processes and/or business relationships. 

   

In this role you will also collaborate with others to develop new data pipelines. As a data engineer in the Cloud Data Engineering team, you will need to work in a data first mindset. You will be designing the conceptual, logical and physical data models necessary to support the analytic data requirements for various streaming and business intelligence needs.  We are looking for an individual with knowledge of Databricks table designs and Teradata experience in creating physical data models to join our team. Job Description: 

  • Protects our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions; ensures security policy and procedure requirements are met; continuously identifies opportunities for improving security and implements strategies to improve our security posture.
  • Provides technical expertise for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, and control of the organization's data.
  • Handles complex or critical data management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including responsibility for database design, integration, source-to-target mapping, data modeling and performance tuning.
  • Consults with multiple client groups to provide solutions, implementing long-range internal and enterprise-level data architecture and management strategies.
  • Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
  • Closely interact with business partners, stakeholders, functional experts, business analysts, contractors, and developers to understand the system requirements and architect and design the data model and database schema based on the requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in Data Model design.
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience writing and tuning complex SQLs, and the ability to analyze and make recommendations on results.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business representatives.
  • Must be able to both collaborate in a team-oriented environment and work independently with direction.
  • Strong Data Analysis skills and Strong Data Modeling skills.
  • Databricks table design expertise, familiarity with Teradata Data Definition Language(DDL) table create statements
  • Expertise with Power Designer/Erwin Data Modeling tool, particularly in the development of physical data models. And also need to have a working knowledge of data modeling and modeling methodologies.
  • Experience in Data Software Engineering, DSE Python, and AWS Databricks
  • Solid experience with business intelligence and data warehousing development technologies, RDBMS, and Analytics Environments.
  • Expertise with Big data technologies, Business Intelligence and data warehousing development technologies.
  • Experience with Azure Solutions.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Experience with Big Data solutions and no SQL DBMSs
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other Public Cloud environments 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure platform technologies like Databricks applications, Event Hub, Data Factory, Scala, Synapse Analytics, Delta Lake, Cosmos DB, or DevOps
  • Prior experience with EHI IT rental or vehicle domain knowledge (preferred, not required)
  • Experience with configuration management and build automation capabilities such as Git/Jenkins.
  • Experience with API development
  • Knowledge and working experience with Agile methodologies
